Route 66 traverses the USA’s heartland – across fields in the Midwest, over the Mississippi River and through enchanting deserts in the Southwest toward the Pacific Ocean. Officially recognized in 1926, the original route traversed more than 3,800 kilometers. Today, you can still travel much of the fabled route, no matter where you begin your journey.
