See Bozeman, Montana, Through the Eyes of Photographer Max Lowe

Witnessing extraordinary wildlife, people and places from an early age fueled Lowe’s mission to traverse the world and capture moments with his camera. New places, experiences and people drive his passion to tell stories. But his fundamental inspiration as a photographer and writer is, and always will be, Montana.

Growing up in Bozeman, Montana, where he lives today, Lowe spent most of his time outdoors with friends, family and the elements. He is happy to let the seasons determine his subject matter. In the summer, his work is focused on rivers, where people in Montana spend a lot of their time river surfing, fly-fishing, hiking and visiting hot springs. When he’s not behind the lens, he bikes from his home to access local running and hiking trails, and he often dabbles in some of the sports he photographs.

Lowe says photography is a way to see and interact with his surroundings and capture the stories they have to tell. It takes him to incredible places and shows him views that might have been missed had he not been looking through the lens.
