Cayuga Waterfront Trail, Ithaca
For a short, scenic ride (or stroll), the Cayuga Waterfront Trail offers two sections: the 3.2-kilometer Cass Park trail loop, which passes by the park’s ice rink, swimming pool and sports facilities as well as the Cayuga Lake Inlet waterfront; and the 2.7-kilometer trail, which connects Stewart Park and the farmers’ market, which was voted in the top 20 best farmers’ markets for foodie travelers by TripAdvisor.

Gore Mountain, North Creek
Gore Mountain’s bike trails have the ‘wow’ factor that experienced mountain bikers looking for. Ten trails offer 518 meters of vertical descent with varied terrain and awesome scenery. Note: Secure your bike before you get there, as rentals aren’t available on the mountain.

Plattekill Bike Park, Roxbury
Whether you’re highly skilled or still a beginner, Plattekill is a mountain bikers’ delight. This lift-served bike park has nearly 100 kilometers of trails, 335 meters of descent and a full-service lodge at the base of the mountain.

Adirondack Trail, Adirondack Mountains
Hiking, boating, fishing, biking – adventure abounds in the Adirondacks. The Adirondack Trail takes riders along 300 kilometers of scenic byways through the Adirondack Park. Attractions and amenities in small towns along the trail make for a pleasant ride through these beautiful mountains.

Allegheny River Valley Trail – Allegheny, Olean and St. Bonaventure University
The Allegheny River Trail – a leisurely nine-kilometer loop through the welcoming small towns of Allegheny, Olean and St. Bonaventure – is a lovely daytime outing to stretch your legs and enjoy scenic views of the Allegheny River. The canopies of cherry, oak and maple trees provide a beautiful backdrop any time of year.
