Golfing at Luxurious Island Resorts

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is elegance and nature at its finest. Ranked a Top10 resort for women by Links magazine and the toughest course in the USA by Golf magazine, the resort hosted the 2012 PGA Championship. The 18-hole course on this barrier island offers sweeping views of the ocean and, with first-class accommodations, restaurants and some of the best professional instruction around, this is a resort that is an absolute pleasure to visit.

Along with the wonderful course, Kiawah Island Golf Resort has several options for staying longer, including the five-star Sanctuary Hotel, which offers oceanfront accommodations, a pool, fitness facility and spa. Consider one of the resort villas, where you can choose from the number of bedrooms and amenities you need. With the beach on your doorstep, you can keep as busy as you like with water sports, wildlife-watching and fishing, or just lay back and relax.

The Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms is another ideal destination to enjoy great golf courses or take a lesson at one of the area’s top golf schools.

Strolling the Promenade: Shem Creek Park

While I was in Charleston, I knew I had to pay a visit to Shem Creek Park. I started with a tasty lunch in one of the waterfront restaurants and then headed to the promenade, where I saw a dolphin swimming past the moment I arrived. This isn’t an unusual sight here, which is why you should get out on the water and explore the area on your own in a kayak or take a guided kayak or canoe tour. There’s no better way to get a one-of-a-kind look at the wildlife in this unique coastal area.

With so many venues and activities to keep you having fun in the sun and enjoying nature at its finest, Charleston should be the choice for your next holiday.
