Whether you come for epic outdoor adventures or top-rated cultural experiences, Colorado has something perfect for your travel plans. The rugged Rocky Mountains, ranches and rivers offer four seasons of activities in nature, while cities like Denver and Boulder attract arts and culture lovers. With so much to explore, make sure to reserve time in your itinerary for one – or more – of these only-in-Colorado experiences.
Royal Gorge Bridge and Park
When you stand on one of the world's highest suspension bridges, it’s only natural to feel totally overwhelmed. Near Colorado Springs, the Royal Gorge Bridge, built in 1929, measures a total of 384 meters across and spans the Arkansas River 291 meters below. Walk across the bridge for unbelievable 360-degree views. If you can handle the dizzying height, ride the aerial tram or zip line from one end of the canyon to the other – or just watch from the restaurant at the visitor center. There’s also an enclosed playground and carousel for the kids.

History Colorado Center
Located in Denver's Museum District, the History Colorado Center focuses on key events in Colorado history, leading visitors through the past, present and future of the Rocky Mountains. Participate in interactive exhibits that appeal to all ages including a virtual ride in an old Model T car, a simulated ski jump or a trip back to the 1880s for a mining blast experience. Sit down for a meal at the on-site restaurant and stop at the gift shop before you go.
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
One of Denver's most beautiful attractions took 250 million years to make. This unique concert venue is the only acoustically perfect natural amphitheater in the world, built in ancient sandstone and surrounded by spectacular geological formations. During the day, visitors can check out the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, take a guided tour, hike the trails or join other fitness enthusiasts climbing the steep stairs in the amphitheater. Have lunch at the Ship Rock Grille for amazing views on the outdoor patio. In the summer, reserve tickets to see a concert under the stars.

In the evening, enjoy an old-fashioned bonfire, see a country music show, try square dancing or venture out for an overnight backpacking excursion. June to August is the peak season, particularly for family travel. By September, most of the ranch visitors will be adults only
