Trusted Traveler Programs

Programs for frequent travelers to the USA

Frequent travelers to the USA might want to enroll in a trusted traveler program to speed up their entry in the country. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) offers several Trusted Traveler Programs, including Global Entry and Sentri, for expedited clearance for preapproved, low-risk travelers arriving in the U.S. (Note: this may not be available for all countries.)

Global Entry allows participants to enter the U.S. by using automated kiosks located at select airports. Participants undergo a rigorous background check and in-person interview prior to enrollment. Once approved, participants present their machine-readable passport or U.S. permanent resident card at kiosks, scan their fingerprints for verification and complete a customs declaration. The traveler receives a transaction receipt and is directed to the exit.

Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (Sentri) is for travelers who voluntarily undergo a thorough background check against criminal, law enforcement, customs, immigration and terrorist indices; a 10-fingerprint law enforcement check; and a personal interview with a CBP officer.

TSA Pre® - a program of the Transportation Security Administration – allows low-risk travelers to experience a more efficient security screening at U.S. airport checkpoints for domestic travel in the U.S.  This program is open to members of the CBP’s Trusted Travelers programs. Simply enter your passenger ID number when booking your ticket.
