I could call this article “Hidden Treasures,” but my intention here is actually to reveal to you some of the wonders I experienced in beautiful Vero Beach and Indian River County, Florida.

For those who have never heard of Vero Beach or Indian River County, finding the area isn’t difficult. This special place is located in South Florida, about 90 minutes southeast of Orlando, in an area called the Treasure Coast (it’s a name the area lives up to!).

Welcoming Vero Beach

Vero Beach was named by USA Today as one of the best beach destinations in the United States, and it doesn’t take long to understand why. Just by stepping foot in this place, bathed by the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Indian River Lagoon, we can see why it received the nomination.

Vero Beach manages to bring together assets that anyone looking for heaven would expect: breathtaking nature, a nice atmosphere and great sophistication. Imagine the cozy feeling of a small town with all the conveniences of a metropolis. You’ve found Vero Beach. Welcome!

Nature Abounds

For nature and outdoors enthusiasts, Vero Beach and Indian River County is beyond paradise. It’s a common sight to see dolphins swimming in pods across the Atlantic Ocean. The Indian River is a protected area for manatees and otters, as well as beautiful birds like the egret or the breathtaking heron. The sea turtle also nests on the beaches of Indian River County, and the turtles’ eggs are often roped off to protect them from human disturbance.

Sophisticated and Unique Accommodations

Vero Beach offers a wonderful variety of places to stay. One of them is Costa d’Este Beach Resort, a resort owned by celebrities Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Set directly on beautiful beaches and offering first-class South Florida-chic service and amenities, Costa d’Este is a luxurious oasis for those who seek a place to rest and recharge.

Another favorite is Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, located on Ocean Drive, a waterfront boulevard full of attractions. Here you can enjoy an intimate Bali-inspired vibe and direct access to a multitude of beaches with breathtaking views. It’s no wonder why it was awarded a AAA Four Diamond rating, among the most respected in the hospitality market.

Shopping and Diversity, All in One Place

If I had to point to one place for good shopping and leisure, I would surely say Beachside Shopping District. It is a well-known and eclectic area full of specialty shops, fine restaurants and super cool and popular bars. Everything is in very good taste!

Shoppers looking for great prices and famous brand names should head to Vero Beach Outlets, where you can find discounts of up to 65 percent. There are brand names galore here, including Banana Republic, Izod, Nike, Coach, White House Black Market and many more.

As I always say, we can create our vacation just the way we want it – and Vero Beach has everything within reach. So why not take advantage of it?
