Dining at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs
By Vange Tapia
In my recent visit to Colorado Springs, I had the opportunity to stay at the beautiful and elegant Forbes Five Star and AAA (American Automobile Association) Five Diamond The Broadmoor Hotel. Also known as the "Grand Dame of the Rockies", The Broadmoor earns its exceptionally high rating due to the impeccable service, friendly staff, luxury accommodations and an outstanding variety of activities and services available on site. Championship golf, outdoor sports, a gorgeous spa, a legendary tennis club and upscale shopping, among other things, are all ready to be enjoyed during your stay.
While my entire experience at The Broadmoor was first-class, I truly had an amazing time exploring the resort’s delicious food offerings and entertainment.
Dining Variety at The Broadmoor
The Broadmoor takes great pride in providing not only a diversity of dining options, but a consistently high-quality culinary experience as well, whether it’s a five-star dinner or a casual meal at the bar.
For upscale dining, you must try the Penrose Room. Attention to detail is the reason why the renowned elegant Penrose Room is still the only Five Star and Five Diamond restaurant in the region. Here you can complement the menu with an extensive European wine list, and enjoy live entertainment and dancing. The restaurant’s location on the top floor of the building provides a fantastic view of Cheyenne Mountain.
For a more casual, but still elegant, dining experience, the resort also offers the contemporary Summit Restaurant. Aside from its exquisite menu, there is a glass wine-cave that allows you to see their variety of wine. The lounge offers a large selection of cocktails and other beverages, making it the perfect place to enjoy a drink before or after dinner.
Entertainment on Site
As I stayed at the hotel several days, I had time to attempt to hit a couple of pins in one of the six bowling lanes at the restaurant-lounge and activity center "PLAY". To be honest, I think the 6-year-old girl next to me was much better than I was at hitting pins! To cheer myself up a bit, I ordered delicious sushi and a drink from the bar.
It got my attention to find a couple of guests with a golden bee sticker stuck to their clothes. To solve the mystery, the friendly doorman directed me to the Golden Bee. A fun pub, famous for its yards of ale and a lively piano man that invites guest to join him in his singing.
Besides both fine and casual dining, as well as fun entertainment, The Broadmoor also features more than 25 colorful shops throughout the resort, including a patio with a fun children's store. From designer labels to cosmetics and even a pet boutique, shopping at The Broadmoor is as enticing as the dining!
Enjoy this award-winning resort that will leave delighted with its impeccable service and the many opportunities to explore all that Colorado Springs has to offer!
