Alabama's Historic Sights and Southern Charm
The southern state of Alabama was the center of many compelling moments in American’s history and evidence of this still remains in nearly every city here. Set to lush mountainous backdrops or vast ocean views, I explored charming towns, historic landmarks, fascinating museums and some of the most inspiring places in the South.
Charlotte, North Carolina: City Life and Outdoor Fun
As a Londoner I am no stranger to the city life, but as we fly over North Carolina and into the cosmopolitan metropolis of Charlotte, I already know this city is different. Not only is Charlotte the largest and most accessible city between Washington, D.C., and Dallas, Texas, but with its mid-Atlantic location, getting here is easy from anywhere in the world, hence its nickname “the International Gateway to the South”.
Cherokee, North Carolina: Authentic Native American Culture
Western North Carolina is the traditional homeland of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The Cherokee people are holding tightly to traditions that have been passed on from generation to generation, and I was intrigued to learn more, just as you can! Everyone is welcome to find out just how Cherokee will affect you.
Hendersonville, North Carolina: Nature, Agri-tourism and Fun
I was raised in a little village in Surrey, England and have always loved the neighbourhood feel that came with it. Hendersonville, North Carolina reminded me of this same charm. Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina, 2,200 feet above sea level, Hendersonville is a place where Mother Nature collides with humanity.
Newark, New Jersey: Nature, Shopping and Entertainment
Only a short eight miles from the dazzling lights of New York, the cultural kaleidoscope of Newark, New Jersey beckoned me in with open arms. I didn’t waste any time before setting out to explore this historical city that dates back to the 1600s. With every turn, I would stumble upon something new, exciting and filled with charm.
Holiday in The Heart of North Carolina: Attractions and Culture
Sometimes it’s almost impossible to prepare for what you might find in a new destination, but the region known as the Heart of North Carolina – including the cities and towns of Archdale, Asheboro, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove, Staley and Trinity – was filled with so many surprising and enchanting people, places and activities. Maybe it was the call from the animals in the North Carolina Zoo, the warm breeze of the Uwharrie Mountains or the central location to visit other towns and cities in the region. The rolling hills, lush greenery and friendly locals guided me to some of my new favourite places.
